Setting and garden ambience
Whitegates, purpose-built with modern facilities specially designed for the Residents' convenience, is set in the rural and tranquil farmland of Sussex offering undisturbed and relaxing pastoral views from all its bedroom windows.
There are: nearly 2 acres of landscaped garden with most of it suitable for level walking, plus secluded areas having garden benches for sitting; an arbour and sheltered patio for sunshine relaxation; the ground and first floor are level, so making them suitable for zimmers and wheelchairs; ample parking exists for residents' own cars and those of visitors.
Medical
The four doctors from the nearby surgery in Westfield attend residents in the Home when necessary; and the local District Nurses visit regularly.
Fees
Include the costs of: accommodation, food, beverages, normal care and service and personal laundry.
For stays of less than 7 days, a daily rate of £100 or more is charged depending on room size and the degree of care required.
Weekly fees are from £500 to £700 for a single room, depending on room size and the care needed, and similarly from £950 or more for a double room.
Fees are payable one month in advance by standing order, bank giro credit or cheque.
Optional Extras
Are arranged on request, at cost to the resident - e.g. hairdressing, physiotherapy, chiropody, manicure, pedicure and reflexology.
Insurance
The Home is comprehensively insured, including cover of £500 for a resident’s personal belongings. However, it is suggested that items of great or personal value, which a resident wishes to retain in the Home, should be separately insured by the resident.
Visitors
Relatives and friends are welcome at all times. Light refreshments are offered free to them, while meals can be provided at nominal cost, given prior notice.
Advance Booking
Reservation of a room will require a deposit of one week's fee in advance.
Trial period
Those wishing to enter the home for a trial period would be very welcome.
